Atlanta Breast Reconstruction Surgeon to Run New York City Marathon in support of Atlanta’s Pink Agenda & To Provide a FabUWish for a Local Woman Battling Breast Cancer

Dr. Asaf Yalif, M.D., F.A.C.S, a local, triple board-certified plastic, reconstructive and hand surgeon, has qualified, and will run in the New York City Marathon on November 6th in support of Atlanta’s chapter of The Pink Agenda to provide a Fab-U-Wish for a woman battling breast cancer.  The Pink Agenda is a not-for-profit organization committed to raising money for breast cancer research and care, as well as awareness of the disease among Atlanta’s young professionals.  Dr. Yalif, a long-time runner, who grew up in New Jersey, attended Rutgers University, and completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, founded Atlanta’s Y Plastic Surgery in 2010.  His sub-specialty in breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, revision and reconstruction after cancer surgery) provides him the privilege of being a part of his patients’ journeys to attain or restore a healthy self-image. 

Dr. Yalif sees breast cancer patients one day a week in tandem with Dr. Laura Pearson, the Chief of Wellstar North Fulton Hospital’s Breast Care Team. “It’s so gratifying to be a part of appointments where hard news is shared, and be able to work together so that the patient comes out with a plan and hope,” stated Dr. Yalif.  In fact, Dr. Yalif has a personal connection to  breast cancer as his 33 year-old cousin in Israel, is currently battling the disease.
