School Shootings and How to Deal With Them

SANTA MONICA, CA - 04/01/2018 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

California therapist discovers a way to curtail school shootings.

By mid-February this year there had been 18 school shootings.Throughout the years there have been Columbine, Sandy Hook and many more.People are saying that there is nothing we can do about it. They are wrong. There is something we can indeed do about this intolerable situation.

Specialized local school organizations could greatly reduce the number of school shootings. This intervention could bring many collateral benefits to the organizations including favorable publicity, increased public support, and increased donations and funding.

Why does the situation seem intractable?Because we are a nation of guns and gun-lovers.There are guns everywhere.Any government attempts to control guns are thwarted by the gun manufacturers, the huge number of gun owners, and freedom lovers throughout the country.

The United States of America has a long history of independence and self-defense.Like the Old West. Also the American Revolution. We are the only one of Britain’s many colonies to depart through armed revolution.Guns are a way of life for us.

One proposed solution to the gun violence problem is to arm more people (like teachers) so the good guys can fight back. This is facing a lot of resistance.Any attempt to get our government to limit guns is necessarily and rightfully limited. How about better law enforcement? How about security measures at schools?

Even if we were somehow able to keep guns out of the hands of murderous teenagers it would not solve the problem. The Columbine shooters had bombs as well.Information on bomb making is available in the Anarchist Cookbook, priced at $25 on Amazon.Cyanide and other toxic agents are also readily available on Amazon.Gun control is not the answer.

Police, acting on their own, could not possibly detect and limit the activities of teenage males bent on mayhem. The police are already super busy chasing known criminals and solving crimes. They don’t have the resources to monitor suspicious teenagers. But they could be much more effective if backed by independent support groups.

Schools can clamp down as much as they want.Search stations at every entrance, routine locker probes and so on.A determined teenage sociopath armed with an automatic weapon will simply walk right in, or even shoot his way in.

Sound hopeless?It isn’t.Here’s a possible solution.

It’s up to the parents of the school children to take control of the situation. They and their children are the victims. These mothers and fathers are close to the situation and are very concerned. There are things they can do to alleviate the situation.

First, a national organization, somewhat similar to MADD.Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.MADD has been effective in stiffening legislation that deals with drunk drivers.A similar organization could at least stiffen up some of the rules.Like unregulated sales of weapons at gun shows.

A possible national organization already exists. The NRA might want to lead this effort.Or the National PTA.There are others as well.

The national organization would provide guidance, regulations and general support for a nation-wide group of local organizations, one for each schoolWe might call this the CPP, or Concerned Parent Patrol. This would be an intelligence gathering organization, sort of a watchdog to spot and track aberrant behavior. This organization would also set up and maintain communications with local law enforcement.

Turns out that we know a lot about the assassins who shoot up our children.

  • They are male.
  • They are social misfits. They do not mix with other students.
  • Almost all the students who have shared a class with the potential assassins know exactly who they are and also know a great deal about them.
  • They are often active on Facebook and other social media. They pen weird messages.
  • They usually are either currently attending the school or did formerly.
  • They are sociopaths.(See separate article on how to spot a sociopath)

Armed with these criteria, it is possible to identify almost all of the potential assassins. With enough people in an organization it should be also be possible to set up a tracking system as well as an alert system to let people know when one of the potential shooters alters his behavior. This would trigger increased surveillance.Alert all available CPP staffers to the situation.Communicate immediately with local law enforcement and alert them of the situation.Make sure that some sort of protective action happens promptly.Properly trained CPP staffers could even be deputized in some circumstances. The NRA could offer a training program.

The tracking system all by itself could strongly limit the activities of potential shooters.Any threat to a school is a felony and could lead to an arrest.Unusually threatening behavior could lead to a restraining order.A violation of this order could lead to retention.Corroborating information in the database would be much more effective in bringing prompt police action than a few calls from concerned parents.

We have inexpensive technology right now that can be used for tight monitoring of suspicious people. We have an available labor force for the monitoring. Not just the parents.Include the grandparents, concerned retired people, even the students who are at risk. It’s all there, waiting to be organized.
