Streetwear, Workwear, and Couture Combined. Upside Down Jacket Joggers set for Kickstarter Release

On February 27, Upside-Down Jacket Joggers will be released on Kickstarter. Created by Motorcycles & Mason Jars, an Atlanta-based fashion design firm, Upside-Down Jacket Joggers are developed by a fashion designer raised in the Deep South, who is looking to add a southern edge to each product offered by the brand.

“People are eager to add variety to their closets, and these pants are a form of couture trousers for people whose primary goal when purchasing an item is comfort,” said Walter Green, Creative Director of Motorcycles & Mason Jars. “Through hours of research, we developed our own method of design that derived from the Deconstruction/Reconstruction design aesthetic. This process allows us to add layering to garments in efforts to create the necessary detail required for each garment. We’re excited to release this cutting-edge fashion apparel on Kickstarter and change the way the everyday consumer views fashion.”

The Upside-Down Jacket Joggers required over two years of prototyping, starting as more traditional denim pants with the jacket detail in the back and later evolving into the designs available today. The joggers look complex, but they are easily pulled up and down with an elastic waistband with a drawstring inside. The added zippers and buttons are all details excluding the functional zipper pockets. Currently, the Joggers come in three options inspired by motorcycle jackets, denim jackets and M64 field jackets, all from the punk aesthetic, in order to bring diversity to each piece. Motorcycles & Mason Jars’ primary goal is to present an alternative fashion life for the consumer market.

“The company recognizes that everyone doesn’t want to fit in, some people want to stand out or develop their own subculture which is difficult to do with limited options,” said Green.

Starting with a $200 early bird special, Upside-Down Jacket Joggers are designed to bring the lifestyle feel of classic outwear to the lesser tapped trouser department. A jersey knit version of the Upside Down Jacket Jogger are available for a $150 early bird special. The pants utilize design elements commonly used in outwear construction.

Product specifics are as follows:

• Fabrics: stretch denim, cotton-twill, and jersey knit
• 11-15 inch leg opening
• Available in fitted or straight leg
• All pockets functional
• Elastic Waistband with drawstring
• Elastic cuffs
• 14 inch Dropped Crotch/Crotch Depth
• M64 version completed with elastic and Velcro Cuffs
• Zipper pockets, traditional pants pockets, and welt pockets
• Not necessary to ever unbutton or unzip either item
