San Antonio Keller Williams Announces Charity Golf Tournament Benefitting Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas

SAN ANTONIO, TX - 8/27/2015 (PRESS RELEASE JET) -- Scheduled for October 8, 2015, the 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament is being hosted at the Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas, by Keller Williams San Antonio and the Hearts & Hands Philanthropy Group. Formed by Keller Williams REALTORS®, the Hearts and Hands Foundation is dedicated to serving the needs of the community and chose the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas as 2015’s beneficiary.

On a mission to surpass the current goal of $80,000, organizers of the 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament are optimistic about this year’s turnout. “We expect this year’s golf tournament will attract a greater number of donors and volunteers. The Children’s Bereavement Center is an amazing organization deserving of our support,” says Roslyn Casey, president of the Hearts and Hands’ board.

Initially launched as a family support group for grieving adults and children, the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas now provides grief counseling and support to thousands of children, young adults, caregivers, and community members each year. The center also provides education and training programs via the Grief Education Institute to healthcare professionals who want to further develop their counseling skills.

In 2015, proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to promote the work of the Children’s Bereavement Center and expand its services to more community members. Last year, the Hearts and Hands Foundation raised more than $65,000 to support Camp Discovery of San Antonio, which is a children’s oncology camp formed by the American Cancer Society.

The Hearts & Hands Philanthropy Group is requesting donations and volunteers for the event as ticket sales for the tournament, after party, and dinner continue to grow. In addition to silent and live auctions, the 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will raise money for the Children’s Bereavement Center through ticket sales and local sponsors.

Those wishing to support the community of South Texas may purchase tournament event tickets, a player’s card, and raffle tickets on the KW Hearts and Hands website. Offering a unique level of crisis and ongoing support for grieving children and families, the Children’s Bereavement Center is responsible for helping Texans cope with the loss of a loved one in a positive, caring environment without any cost to families or caregivers.

With less than two months until the golf tournament begins, golf enthusiasts and community members are invited to participate in this special event during which Keller Williams and the Hearts and Hands Foundation hope to break attendance and donation records. “In a time that feels so lonely, thank you for helping us reassure these children that they are not alone,” said Roslyn Casey in a message to the tournament’s supporters.
