CHARLESTON, SC - 06/09/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Wild Wing Cafe announced today plans to open its first restaurant in the Northeast, in cooperation with a group that has more than two decades of experience in the restaurant industry.

Craig Colby and Janette Colby (wife of Craig’s twin brother Michael) have agreed to open their first Wild Wing Cafe, in the suburban Philadelphia city of Barrington, N.J., off Interstate 295.

Wild Wing Cafe is a rapidly growing company that brings together a menu of fresh, made-from-scratch wings and homemade sauces, half-pound Angus Steakhouse burgers, salads and Wild Wraps; full service and live entertainment.

“I believe when people go out to a full service restaurant for dinner, they are looking for more than great food, which Wild Wing Cafe certainly delivers on with their full spectrum menu,” Craig Colby said. “They want to have an overall entertaining experience. With Wild Wing Cafe, we have a chance to exceed those expectations.  The "wow" experience we can deliver is unlike anything else currently in the industry with the quality of the food and the level of entertainment that Wild Wing Cafe provides.”

Tom Lewison, Wild Wing Cafe’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “We’re excited to expand Wild Wing Cafe into our eighth state. Craig and Janette Colby immediately understood what our concept is all about, and that, combined with their years of experience, makes them a great team to introduce New Jersey to hot wings, cold beer and good times. With their leadership, we believe New Jersey customers will enthusiastically embrace our concept and really appreciate the fun, food and service that Wild Wing customers have been experiencing.”

There are 39 company owned and franchised Wild Wing Cafes in seven Southeastern states. This will be the first Wild Wing Cafe north of Virginia. The restaurant plans to open by the end of 2016.

Brothers Craig and Michael Colby have been franchising and operating restaurants since 1993, when they bought their first Burger King. They also have owned locations with Red Robin, Cosis and Margaritas Mexican restaurants.

“I had been keeping my eye on Wild Wing Cafe for some time, and it always intrigued me,” said Craig Colby. “You can't ignore the popularity of chicken-wing restaurants, and I love the fact that Wild Wing Cafe has combined live entertainment with a full-service wing concept.”

About Wild Wing Cafe

Founded in 1990 in Hilton Head, S.C., Wild Wing Cafe began as a single restaurant that featured the homemade wild wing recipes of its two founders Cecil and Dianne Crowley. As the good times and great food grew in popularity within the Hilton Head community, the Crowleys expanded the brand, eventually offering franchise opportunities. In 2012, Axum Capital Partners, purchased the then 32-unit chain (39 currently), and has implemented an enhanced growth strategy for select U.S. markets. Today, Wild Wing Cafe operates in seven southeastern states and is an unquestioned leader within its category in food quality, drinks (an extensive beer list) and its electrifying ambiance. Music is at the core of the brand’s personality, with nightly entertainment and regular band competitions.
