Velocity Risk Underwriters Expands Home Insurance Offering to Coastal Texas

Velocity Risk Underwriters has announced an expansion into Texas, writing coastal wind-only homeowners insurance policies for customers that may otherwise be insured in the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA).

Velocity is unique in that it offers one of the few A.M. Best “A” rated homeowners programs in Texas and the only A.M. Best “A” rated product to existing TWIA customers. The company utilizes Texas-based State National Insurance Company. The timing for the launch is fortuitous, as agents and customers are facing a decision whether to remain with TWIA or allow their policy to be renewed with a TWIA-designated assumption carrier.
