Transformance’s Economic Empowerment Center Offers Versatility

Transformance, an integrated financial capability nonprofit, has opened the doors to its Economic Empowerment Center (EEC), offering a versatile coworking space benefitting numerous clientele. The redesigned and renovated lower floor of Transformance’s corporate headquarters is now providing multiple workspace options for educational initiatives, nonprofit outreach and social services fulfillment.

“The EEC is destined to become a hub of diverse and beneficial activity at Transformance,” said Dr. Daniel B. Prescott, Jr., interim president & CEO. “The versatility of the EEC was integrated into the design to fulfill multiple purposes and we’re now getting a preview.”

Strategic partnerships designed to promote the integrated services delivery model at the 30,000 square feet of coworking space include relationships with Services of Hope charity, the ‘Girls Who Code’ educational platform and various workforce development partners. The event space runs 5,000 square feet and can seat up to 500.

Through the Girls Who Code “Clubs” program curriculum, locations across the country provide free after-school programs for 6-12th grade girls to use computer science to impact their community and join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models. There are approximately 40,000+ enrollees nationwide. Transformance’s Economic Empowerment Center is the only local location for the program not affiliated with a school or library.

Transformance continues to seek additional partnerships with organizations in order to formulate its future, which may include realtors, entrepreneurs or other businesses aligned within the Stemmons Corridor. A special meet and greet session, complete with guided tours of the EEC, was held on Jan. 26, followed by a Services of Hope food pantry event on Jan. 27.
