Republicans Make Shocking Decision to Support Abortion in 2016 Race for the White House

Every Republican has their own reason to support Donald Trump or denounce him.  The division within the Republican Party is somewhat like an internal civil war.  Some people don’t like the way that Trump talks about Syrian refugees or building a wall along the southern border.  Others are thankful that an outsider will finally give them a voice and “Make America Great Again.”  Even amongst Conservative and Evangelical leadership there is talk of drawing lines in the sand.  Here is an abbreviated list of conservative leaders who are turning on Trump either by abstention or flat out refusal.  (See full list in ‘The Atlantic’ HERE)

George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, Ted Cruz, Barbara Bush, Jeb Bush, Marc Racicot, Vin Weber, Richard Hanna, Scott Rigell, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, John Kasich, Condoleezza Rice, and Glenn Beck

What is surprising and even shocking is that these very popular and conservative leaders are citing that voting for Trump is not something they can have on their ‘conscience’.  Popular conservative talk show host Glen Beck went so far as to say that God didn’t want him to vote for Donald Trump.  That voting for Trump would be disobeying God.  But the question that many conservatives are asking is “What about Abortion?”  How can any conservatives live with their conscience after allowing another Pro-Abortion candidate to take the White House?  Clinton is not only Pro-Abortion, she is an avid supporter of Planned Parenthood and Abortion rights and will undoubtedly appoint supreme court justices who share her convictions.  But who will be a voice for the millions of unborn future generations that will be silenced through a Clinton Presidency?

By refusing to vote for Trump, conservatives and evangelicals are basically giving up the human rights fight they have been waging since 1973.

Donald Trump and Mike Pence seem to have every intention to be a strong Pro-Life voice if they take office in 2017.  In fact Mike Pence has gone so far as to say that they will see to it that Roe v. Wade is overturned.

“If we appoint strict constructionists to the Supreme Court as Donald Trump intends to do, I believe we will see Roe v. Wade consigned to the ash heap of history where it belongs,” Pence said during a town hall-style event at the DeltaPlex in suburban Grand Rapids. (The Detroit News)

This election isn’t just about building walls, Isis, Syrian refugees, the economy, the trade deficit and creating jobs.  This election is about protecting the rights of unborn American citizens.  And it is high time that we started talking about it.
