Having assembled and verified a virtual model of a shipper, its thermal performance under any realistic temperature conditions can be simulated, thus minimizing the number of expensive cold chamber testings.

This can be extended to a full thermal lane risk analysis by studying the shipper performance on a specific lane by using historical weather data along the lane. In a case study Mr Walbrecker will demonstrate how this analysis can help quantify the risk of shipper failure and lead to a more economic balancing between thermal risk and total costs.
