International Award-Winning Film, 'Misfortune', by NY Native to Open Chelsea Film Festival, October 13, 2016

  CHELSEA, NY - 09/30/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Gunnison Galaxy is excited to announce that their award-winning independent film, Misfortune, has been selected to open the Chelsea Film Festival, which will be held from October 13th to October 16th.  Misfortune will be shown on opening day, Thursday, October 13th, at 7pm at the Cinepolis Chelsea.  Doors will open at 5:30pm.  In attendance will be Desmond Devenish (Director/Executive Producer), Xander Bailey (Lead Actor/Co-Writer) and Sarah Kinga Smith (Manager/Executive Producer).

DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY:

Produced, directed and acted in by Devenish, his second short, Closure, a film about psychosis and spirituality was inspired by real events. It played twenty festivals worldwide and garnered several awards, including best dramatic short at Spiffest and Houston Worldfest.

Misfortune, a gritty dramatic-thriller shot on location in Tucson, Arizona, marks his first feature film. It has won multiple awards and has played around the world in locations including India, NY, LA, Sweden and Tucson.

Devenish is the founder of Gunnison Galaxy; a creative collective aimed at cultivating new talent across the boards and filling the entertainment industry with a new wave of inspiration.
