IMMIGRATION TO CANADA NOW MORE ACCESSIBLE THAN EVER

OTTAWA, CANADA - 3/2/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) -- As demand for skilled workers in Canada remains high, the Canadian Government is working hard to make immigration accessible for those looking to live and work in Canada.

Over 35 000 invitations to apply for permanent residence have already been issued through Canada’s new Express Entry system, which was launched in January 2015.

The first draw issued 779 invitations to applicants with a minimum score of 886 points. Since then, the number of invitations has almost doubled with the qualifying score dropping to 459 points.

This exciting change offers applicants an even better chance of being accepted into the program and opens doors for skilled workers to enjoy the many opportunities in Canada.

During a webinar hosted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on December 16, 2015, a CIC Policy Analyst stated, “The number of invitations issued per round is expected to increase as the pre-Express Entry inventory of applications is finalised. In turn, it is expected that the minimum score of those that are invited to apply will drop.”

"We expect that in the new year when our rounds start growing — to meet our new levels plan — that the score will reduce," she added.

Experts in the Canadian Immigration industry, CanadianVisa.org predict that the qualifying scores will remain at an average of over 400 points for the upcoming draws. A representative of the Canadian Immigration company added, “The Express Entry program has become our key product, with thousands of applicants applying on a weekly basis. The response has been overwhelming and we predict that the interest in the program will only intensify as the qualifying ranking criteria decreases and becomes more accessible to people from all backgrounds.”

The Express Entry Program allows applicants to immigrate to Canada faster and more efficiently than ever before. Designed to select skilled workers for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class and a portion of the Provincial Nominee program, this system serves to supplement the growing demand for jobs in Canada.

Applicants are awarded points based on various factors including their work experience, age, qualifications and language skills, with each qualifying criteria receiving a ranking according to the Comprehensive Ranking System.  Once the applicants have been assessed, a select few are submitted to a pool of candidates where Canadian Employers can then select employees that meet their needs.
