AUSTIN, TX - 02/21/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Hellas Construction awarded it’s first grant for an athletic field to Tenino High School in Tenino, WA, within 30 days of officially starting its new Hellas grant program. The program was started in late January, after parting ways with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, to help in funding sports facilities offering a variety of sports.

Hellas President and CEO Reed J. Seaton implemented this grant program to assist a wide variety of non-profit/tax exempt organizations with building various sports, mini-sports fields, or playgrounds in neighborhoods and cities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. “There was a need for a grant program that was not limited to one sport,” said Seaton. “We already install fields and sport surfaces for football, baseball, softball, track, even mini-sport fields and playgrounds,” he said. “It just made sense to open up an avenue for these well-deserved organizations in all different sports to get assistance,” Seaton said.

Hellas Construction is the preeminent sports construction builder for professional sports organizations, schools, and universities nationwide. They are committed to giving back by expanding the opportunities for youth to participate in sports and activities in a safe environment on a safe surface. The Hellas grant will help build fields and sports facilities that allow children to develop rudimentary skills in a variety of sports and activities, because to Hellas, more than the game matters. Sports help children learn to be a part of a group, learn teamwork, follow instructions, cooperate with peers, develop gross motor skills, and reap all the benefits of staying physically active.

Hellas builds fields as small as its Kickabout® play surfaces from 2000 sq. ft. up to 20,000 sq. ft. or as big as a full size football, soccer, softball, or baseball field. All surfaces can be built with Hellas’ patented Matrix® turf that has been proven dependable and durable with over 10 years on the market, without failure.
