SAN FRANCISCO, CA - 08/03/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Bay Area Grateful Dead fans all know about Eye of the Tiger Tattoo, and its nationally renown founder, Salem.  Salem has long found the inspiration for his art in the colorful world of the Grateful Dead.  His work has attracted tattoo collectors from all over the country who love his award winning use of color and his amazing ability to translate song lyrics into beautiful pieces of wearable art.

He is proud to announce that he is releasing a free download of his Grateful Dead lightning bolt flash.  The download features thirteen variations of the iconic lightning bolt image featured on the 1976 album, ‘Steal Your Face’.  Not only is the piece suitable for printing and framing, it can also be used by tattoo artists who want to offer this legendary art to their customers.

The flash was created for Bolt Day, an event that Eye of The Tiger Tattoo hosts every year in honor of guitarist, Jerry Garcia’s birthday.  For the past three years, artists who are fans of the band gather together at the shop to decorate fans of all ages with the commemorative images.  Traditionally, Bolt Day is held the day after Jerry Day, an unofficial San Francisco Holiday, held at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in McLaren Park.

“We want to make our Bolt Day Flash accessible to any individuals looking to make a day out of tattooing friends to the soundtrack of the Grateful Dead,” said Salem. “We’ve had three very successful Bolt Days already, so we’re incredibly energized and excited to ring in the fourth one this August.”

The Bolt Day Flash will be available for free download on the Eye of the Tiger Tattoo’s  new website Boltday.com. Passionate about the Grateful Dead’s influence on music, culture, and tattooing, the San Francisco tattoo shop works tirelessly to help celebrate and ensure the band’s legacy lives on.

“Bolt Day is mostly just to keep the party going from Jerry Day.  People come to town just for this weekend, and its great to give them a chance to have a lasting reminder of the good times they have with their friends.”

“We want friends, family, community members, and Grateful Dead enthusiasts worldwide to have access to our Bolt Day Flash,” said Salem. “Don’t forget to send us lots of pictures and videos of your art, and come visit us this August for our fourth annual Bolt Day.”

Eye of the Tiger Tattoo was officially established in 2013 by Salem. Their unmistakable Grateful Dead-inspired interior design and decoration makes the shop a one-of-a-kind tattoo location on the West Coast.
