OLDSMAR, FL - 06/07/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

For the past week, Empower Adventures of Tampa Bay (EATB) has been flying high with residents, community leaders and media with back-to-back aerial tours on their brand new zip line course high above the Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve in Oldsmar.

A formal ribbon cutting took place at 10:00 am this morning at Bicentennial Park.  Attendees included Oldsmar Mayor Doug Bevis, City Council members, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Rep. Chris Sprowls and various other community leaders and Tampa Bay residents.

Founder Joe DeRing said, “It’s been exciting to work with the city of Oldsmar and everyone in Tampa Bay to get the park constructed over the past few months. But seeing and hearing those first few people zip across such a beautiful preserve really hits home for me. We are ready for business and can’t wait to welcome individuals, families, and groups to take advantage of this eco-friendly experience and ‘unplug’ for a few hours to be as free as a bird.”

The Florida Audubon Society attended the EATB ribbon cutting ceremony with numerous volunteers and a variety of birds of prey; the group continues to be an ambassador of nature and partner with EATB to promote the environment and the animals within it.

Among the community leaders that zipped over the Memorial Day weekend were Santiago Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay.  “We are happy to welcome Empower Adventures to the Tampa Bay region’s exciting blend of experiences for visitors and locals alike. The diversity of activities and the central location guarantee that Empower Adventures Tampa Bay will be a magnet for visitors looking for active, family-friendly fun here in Tampa Bay.”

EATB Partner Dev Pathik said, “This is our third park in the US and we have a unique value-added proposition that’s different from others: EATB isn’t a theme park-based course with hundreds of attendees per day. It’s an empowering adventure for many with an eco-friendly twist that sets sail high above the natural surroundings of a beautiful preserve.”

Families and groups will gain a new perspective on fun with a 60-foot-tall start tower, five zip lines of varying lengths, and a 200-foot suspension bridge. The park is open daily from 9 am to 5pm with reservations only.
