Discover the true nature and the heartbreaking effects of anorexia and bulimia as Cliff Koch recall the story of Pamela, his wife for 25 years in Miracles Happen… Sometimes. Eating disorders, contrary to what most people think, is not a lifestyle choice or a diet gone 'too far'. It does not only result in thin appearance and malnutrition. Eating disorders are serious and are potentially life-threatening mental illnesses. Miracles Happen… Sometimes is a revealing account that relives the trials Cliff and Pam lived through fighting the life-threatening effects of Anorexia.
Pamela’s eating disorder led her vascular disease to cause the amputation of both feet all fingers including the thumb. The effects of Pamela’s anorexia and bulimia also affected her respiratory condition that leads her to use only 35% capacity of her lungs. She was dialyzed three times a week because of her kidney failure and she would slip into a coma while her doctors could not give an assurance of her survival. They also suffered setbacks where they had to start the recovery process again. During these times Cliff Koch never gave up. He stood by his wife through the whole process. His unwavering love, support, and devotion for his wife inspired Cliff to retell and immortalize their story through Miracles Happen… Sometimes. Because of this, Pam is and will continue to be an inspiration not only to those she met during her illness but also to the readers of Miracles Happen… Sometimes.
