Belle Ridge Retreat, announces Fall Trail Rides for Horses and ATV's/UTVS's

Locally owned and operated Belle (pronounced “Bell”) Ridge Retreat was slated to open their RV Campground this spring, however, due to permitting delays are now scheduled to open next Memorial Day. In the mean time, they've decided to open the nearly 600 acre park and scenic trails to families this Fall for trail riding of horses and recreational vehicles. Foliage throughout the vast mountainous views is expected to be quite spectacular!

Opening of the trails will allow much awaited hikers and outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy more than 10 miles of trails down into the vast Cumberland Mountains of this awe inspiring property. Co-owners, Nick and Joanna Isabelle are excited to share the treasures this retreat has to offer such as ponds, caves, waterfalls and miles and miles of scenic trails and bluffs. Owner/operator, Nick Isabelle says, “In keeping with tradition, we are renovating the original homes on the property in order to keep the look and feel of Belle Ridge Retreat as authentic as possible. The previous family lived here for over a hundred years and wanted to eventually turn this property into a state park so that the public could enjoy all the wonders it has to offer...now they can!”

Reservations are now being taken for Trail Rides during weekend dates in October, November and December, weather permitting. Saturdays are open for family ATV and UTV riding while Sundays are set for guests to bring their own horses to enjoy the trails. Plenty of parking for trailers is available.

UTV rides will start at 10:00 am and last until 3:00 pm. Registration at Belle Ridge will start at 8:00 am in order to unload and prepare for the day's ride. Plan to bring your picnic lunch or barbecue materials because there are picnic tables with barbecue pits located at the beautiful Vanishing Falls. As well as elsewhere on the property.

Horse trail riding will be open Sunday's from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Picnic areas will be labeled on the paper trail maps as well as the Google GPS map.  Other important items to bring are: cell phone for GPS trail map, bug spray, layered clothing, toilet paper (there are no rest rooms on the trail system), bottled water and of course a camera!

The Registration office has a store to purchase memorabilia as well as those forgotten items, such as charcoal, ice, trash bags, drinks, snacks, etc.

When the campground opens next spring, it will boast 50 full hook-up RV sites, cabins, (including “Glamping” cottages), and 40 tent sites. The campground will have a swimming hole, bath house, pavilion for parties and two look-out bluffs, one with a gazebo, perfect for weddings and one with a look out deck.  Owner, Joanna Isabelle says, “We love the little town of Monterey and expect that the opening of our campground will bring more business to the area.”
