Arturo Alvarez-Demalde is a Harvard Business School Alumni and now a managing partner with a brand management company. In addition to delivering economic empowerment, Alvarez-Demalde also supports philanthropic causes as a board member for ARIS and an advisory committee member for Harvard University's David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies. He is a venture capitalist and equity partner in multiple companies as well. In recent articles and interviews he discusses his life as a managing partner, his hobbies and passions, and a brief but feel-good story about an encounter with a receptionist.
In an interview in March with Five Hundo, Arturo Alvarez-Demalde describes some his favorite activities, such as travelling the world. He also states how proud he has been to create "positive outcomes" through "economic empowerment". "Getting to understand a vision and then having the opportunity to develop a plan on bringing that vision to life is always a rewarding experience," he says. He also discusses how important collaborative processes are in any industry and the difficult decisions that professionals must make to ensure the best possible outcomes in their work.
In another interview with Ralph Slaske, Alvarez-Demalde talks about his childhood and "where he is from, what he has been through, and who he knows." Revealing the lighter side of his life, Alvarez-Demalde talks about some of his passions and pleasures. He discusses his love of fresh produce and how it isn't connected to making money, but enjoying the day. Specifically blueberries, where he talks "about the enjoyment he gets walking in the cool of the vineyard, watching the chickens come running when he takes them food each day and picking fresh blueberries in the heat of the summer."
"Arturo Alvarez-Demalde is clearly a man who has many talents but also many passions," says Ralph Slaske. In a brief account written by Alvarez-Demalde himself, he talks briefly about an encounter with a receptionist in a hotel. Forgetting his wallet on the third floor while leaving the hotel, he finds the receptionist, who had seemed to forget the conversation they had 20 minutes prior to him losing his wallet. It seemed strange because there weren't that many people coming and going from the third floor, but the story is cut off and continued at a later time.
Arturo Alvarez-Demalde is a man of talent and passion, who worked hard, managed to get into the esteemed ranks of Harvard Business School Alumni and has since ventured forth to develop other passions, save and operate a successful brand management company, and help in several philanthropic causes.
