Anthem, Inc., West Region and Specialty Business President Pam Kehaly honored by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Lisa Oz at the HealthCorps’® 10th Annual Gala

HealthCorps® (www.healthcorps.org), HealthCorps®, a leader in the nationwide movement of healthy young people, honored Anthem West Region and Specialty President, Pam Kehaly, who has become a true influencer in the business of healthcare.

Anthem is committed to providing access to high quality and affordable health care. Pam’s personal mission is to help individuals get and stay healthy. 

Kehaly joined a group of other VIPs that included television personality, best-selling author and philanthropist Rachael Ray; YouTube sensation Eva Gutkowski aka MyLifeAsEva; and Omron Healthcare, Inc. represented by President & CEO Ranndy Kellogg with the organization’s Golden Heart Honors.

Additionally, ASTEC Charter School founder Dr. Freda Deskin; Sharpstown High School Principal Robert Gasperello, were awarded the Yvette and Joel Mallah Crystal Heart Apple Community Service Awards for contributions to the health and well-being of American youth at HealthCorps’ 10th Annual Gala on Tuesday, May 10, at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers which featured performances from Ben Vereen, Eturnity Band and Broadway’s Stepp Stewart.

“It was an important milestone in widening and diversifying the HealthCorps family by bringing in a Junior Committee, a young YouTube star, a new West Coast Board Member, and more corporate leaders.” says Michelle Bouchard, HealthCorps, President.

The “Garden Gala” raised funds for HealthCorps to continue its steadfast mission of educating youth about the dangers of childhood obesity and how to both overcome and prevent this deadly epidemic with physical fitness, nutrition and mental resilience education. Funding from this event goes directly to the continued expansion of HealthCorps’ groundbreaking, in-school Health Education programming, including the highly successful HealthCorps University, the organization’s professional development program that bring its curriculum to virtually any school or community in the United States.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, HealthCorps Chairman, renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and four-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning host of the “The Dr. Oz Show,” and his wife Lisa Oz co-hosted the Gala. The couple co-founded HealthCorps over a decade ago to engage and encourage youth to become catalysts for simple lifestyle changes that enhance not only their own health, but influence the health of their families and friends as well. The evening applauded the unwavering and tireless work of honorees Rachael Ray, Anthem Blue Cross President Pamela Kehaly, YouTube Star Eva Gutowski, Omron Healthcare, Dr. Freda Deskin and Sharpstown High School Principal Robert Gasparello.
