A Valentine Mariachi Concert Featuring Grammy Award Winning Mariachi Divas

This Valentine’s weekend, The Alpha Music Group will organize a talent filled Mariachi concert at the Downey Civic Theatre for all to experience and enjoy.

The music of Mariachi carries a special importance in Hispanic culture. This Valentine’s Day weekend, the Alpha Music Group has set out to share this experience with a general audience thanks to the stunning performances of some of the best talent around with a performance titled Valentine Mariachi Concert: An Evening of Romance. Performers will include the two time Grammy Award winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea celebrating their ninth Grammy Nomination, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar, Mariachi Los Reyes, Chris Reza and Ballet Folklorico Resurreccion. With this much talent packed onto one stage, the Valentine’s Day concert will be sure to wow anyone in attendance. 

The performance itself will feature all of the traditional high notes of a Mariachi which can only be created by the culmination of several violins, a vihuela, guitarron and expert trumpet performers. Thanks to the sheer number and talent of the performers present, a variety emotional heartstrings will be plucked, and attendees will experience the full spectrum of possibilities that a Valentine’s Day Mariachi performance can encompass.

Additionally, the Alpha Music Group and Chris Reza are hosting an online violin giveaway, in which students are able to enter for a chance to win a full size 4/4 violin. To enter, students simply need to interact with the Alpha Music Group Facebook page and share a bit about themselves and what winning a violin would mean to them. Two lucky winners will be chosen to receive a 4/4 violin, and each will be given their prize the day of the show.

The event will be held at Downey Civic Theatre on Saturday, February 11th at 8 PM. About the Performers

Among the performers are Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, Chris Reza, Mariachi Los Reyes, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar and Ballet Folklorico Resurreccion. This is quite the colorful cast of performers. From the Mariachi Divas who boast two Grammy Awards and will be celebrating their ninth Grammy nomination to Chris Reza, a Los Angeles Police Officer, every performer brings something different to the table.
