Richmond Black Widows complete impressive 2017 season, undefeated in all their division matchups

In its second season of play, the historic and only Richmond women’s contact football team continues to impress with another stellar season. The Richmond Black Widows secured its leadership standing in Virginia with consistently superior performance, winning every Division III game during a season schedule that pitted the team against their toughest Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) competitors, including higher division teams.

The Richmond Black Widows made WFA history with a Cinderella finish in 2016 as the first team in an inaugural season to advance to the National Conference Championship game. In that season, four of their beginner football team members were chosen as All-American players in the WFA. In the 2017 season, six of their team members received All-American status.
